I have a great camera, but the camera takes the videos using.mov files. Since I’m using a PC, the files are opened with QuickTime  Player. Unfortunately in order to edit the files you need to purchase an upgrade for the QuickTime  application. In order to edit .mov files for free you need to do the following:

1. convert from .Mov files to AVI files: I tried a few application, and some where to complicated and others didn’t give a good result (no sync between sound and picture, etc). The best application I found was Rad video tools. You can download it from here. Its very easy to use: first select a file you want to convert, then click “convert a file”. you will receive a window, don’t select anything, just click convert.
2. edit the .AVI file. I recommend using VirtualDub, its very powerful and easy (Thanks Lior)
