Nokia Morph - nanotech concept phone

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

Nokia Research Center, along with the Cambridge Nanoscience Center, think they know how we’ll use our mobile device in the future. If I have to summerize the user experience of this concept phone it’ll be - insane usability and flexibility (insane in a good way).

This beautiful animation, demo the concept:

It is very easy to accuse concept project like this to be very unrealistic, and it’s frequently being compared to the concept device and technologies that were presented in the 50th. The predictions back then were mainly about that every house will be completely automatic, managed by humanoid robots, and we’ll all be driving flying cars. Even though this concept mobile device is not intended for production in the near future, it is said that some of its features might find their way into high-end devices in the coming 7 years.

I truly believe that the concept creations of today, including this one, are much more realistic, based on real technologies, and not just the creator imagination like in the 50th. I remember that only few years ago, I saw a concept video about bizar looking cellphones that can do video calls. Can you imagine?

A nice comparison between Jajah Direct and other similar services

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

Lots of bloggers review Voip and Telephony related application and services the seconds it’s released, but it’s rarely that one does such comprehensive tests. This guy compared between Jajah Direct, , WifiMobile, Talkster and Rebtel. He went to the trouble of really using everyone of these services.

The review.

Most beautiful soft telephone

Monday, February 11th, 2008

The Telephone, indeed, is the most beautiful telephone I’ve seen on the web. It is not intended for making calls, but instead it will transmit you to other dimensions and destination. Any 3 digit number you’ll dial may hide behind it a beautiful, yet simple, puzzle, you have to solve this puzzle in order to get the number for the next destination. These puzzles are crafted with extreme talent and looks amazing.

The Telephone - AOOA

This cool Flash game is been floating around for some time now, since it’s a must-see I post it here for the ones that missed it.

Told you it’s a Telephony blog :)

Welcome my new blog - Human VOIP

Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

Hello and welcome to my new blog, this is my company’s blog, I work at Jajah, if you somehow missed that in this blog’s URL. But don’t let that misguide you about the nature of this blog, it’s not gonna be only about Jajah and not always in favor of Jajah, it’s gonna be objective as much as possible. I already run a personal blog in here http://blog.guya.net that is mainly about Flash, web development and the web in general. I will try, as much as I can, that this blog will have some added value and won’t just duplicate posts and subjects. I hope to mainly write in here about Telephony related stuff, VOIP 2.0, Voice 2.0 and all of these buzz words.

I will also teach you how to hack Jajah, yep that not a typo. I meant hacking Jajah in a good, legitimate way, like, how to get the most out of your Jajah account, get the most free minutes possible, how to get a hold of the jajah APIs and develop your own cool VOIP 2.0 apps, and even make money out of it.

Anyway, I’m not restricting myself to any subject with this blog.

See you soon :)

Jajah is the VoIP player that brought you web-activated telephony.
